Beginning Male Vertical Dancer in Wash, DC in the USAHiiiiii Everybody!!!
So glad to be with you all!! I recognize a lot of you from other forums on the net and it's great to see you!! It's great to see some new names too!!
A lil about me. I'm a country boy from North Carolina originally but I currently live in Washington, DC. I don't dance professionally, just recreationally but I've been dancing all my life! Self taught hip hop, african, modern dancer. Nobody would pay to see skinny ole me HAHAHA!! I just love to dance. Today will actually be my first day poling! The UPS man delivered my X-Pole a couple of hours ago. I wanted to start pole because it's different and unusual and from what I read it is great for fitness. I wanted to challenge myself with something completely off the wall.
I've been on a few other forums before AJ referred me to this one and I've already recieved tons of tips and advice! I'm so very thankful and appreciative. I'm sure I can use all the help I can get from you guys and gals too if you don't mind. I won't really know what level I am yet until I get home this evening and set everything up and get started. I think I could probably get away with some intermediate moves. I think I'm in pretty good shape. I'm a yogist but I won't push my luck lol and I will be extremely careful and stick with the beginner moves for now.
If anyone is in the Washington, DC area, I would love to be friends!! I'm a fun loving cool guy who loves to make people laugh and have fun. It would be great to have someone show me different things in person and make recommendations for studios that I can go to that allows males in the classes and practice at in the area? Or I can bring my X-Pole and we can have a Pole Jam!!!
I'm only 5'2 and 125lbs. I'm a saint who couldn't hurt a flea so you don't have to worry about me being dangerous or anything and I promise never ever to try anything inappropriate. Just looking for some friends who vertical dance because as of now I don't know anyone who pole dances except the virtual buddies I've made in the past week on other sites. They are already so very dear to me, but it would also be nice to have live buddy (or buddies) who live in the area that I can explore this new endeavor with without any preconditions or judgements.
Thanks so much in advance! I look forward to being your friend and getting to know you all!
Thanks so much for your time and energy.
