Competition Question!!!!

Has there ever been...or will there ever be.....

a competition on static poles?

I have never seen one with all static! They seem to all spin, which changes the performance!

There are sooooo many things I can do on a static that I cannot do on spin...and vice versa!

I do find that with spin, it is more of holding a pose than creating the flow of an actual move...as there is no creation of momentum by body movement...the pole does it for you!

Not by any means making it easier...just different!

Does anyone know of any?

HA!  I knew it would be different in different countries!

Would someone please be so kind as to post a link to a comp vid on static!

This was a question brought up with my students!  They believe that competitions outside our country are only on spin poles!

I would like to show them vids of competition performances on static poles!

I like the idea of having a choice of spinny and static like they do in some of the MPD comps.  I think it shows versatility as they are different skills.  I would like to do more on spinny without coming off, staggering and feeling sick  Laughing

Ideally, if I could budget a venue with a bigger stage, I'd like to have 4 poles 2x50mm, 2x45mm - one of each set on spinney.
