Hiya Bec.

Debs Riley who runs this forum is the lady who makes the Pole-O-Mat I was telling you about. I think pretty much everyone on here will tell you to go for the Pole-O-Mat. I love mine!

oh right i just dont know whether to get the big fat one or the smaller one, have you got small or big, as the saying big doesnt mean better but i dont want any major accidents as got two toddlers to look after.
Miss Behave

Haha! If I had the money I'd get the bigger. It wasn't available when I bought mine or I'd have got that one instead.

I'd back up Miss Behave all the way. Pole O Mat is the way to go.

Pole O Mat all the way...

The others are just rip offs so it's always better to get the best and original version Smile

I don't think the thinner one is thick enough to do the job of taking a fall. I've been using it in conjunction with another mat.
The thicker one looks better, but I've not tried it.

I'm thinking of getting a couple of rock-climbing bouldering mats.

I think it depends what stuff you are doing. If you are doing a Brass Monkey up a 20 ft pole then the thin mat won't stop you hurting yourself. But if you are doing other stuff then the thinner mat is still much safer than doing stuff with no mat at all. I just put a thread up about a fall I had - the top half of my body landed ON a pole o mat - winded but fine. The bottom half of my back landed off the mat (very odd accident!), and it really hurt. If I would have had no mat at all I suspect I would have caused serious injury as my neck and upper body landed first.

If you can afford the bigger mat, why not go for that, but otherwise I would get the other rather than none at all.

my ceiling is only low and when i invert for what ever move my head aint far from the ground ,im only a newbie so im not doing anything brilliant or to fancy ....but i do worry about hitting my head .i cant afford the thicker one at the mo so maybe the thinner for now and the thicker when im doing more impressive stuff ..like u say one is better than nothing but then would the thinner one be a waste of money in the long run hhhmmmm xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

If you got it and felt you needed a thicker mat, you could get another thin one in the future and stack them.
