Hi ladies, I'm Gem 23 from essex (I have not idea what to include on my hiya bit!) I poled for 2/3 years whilst in uni and frigging loved it - got reasonable good trix wise though to be fair dance wise i was a lil fairy eleflump but as the title suggests I ahd me a baby (ooooh how i love him - i will try not to gush too much I'm obsessed new mummy syndrom!) I stopped doing everything as so as i found out (going to the gym, rugby and beloved pole ) as I'm also a fitness instructor and a lot of new research was coming to light on how core basedexercise can effect birth and i was scared shtless to say the least so i just though hey ho NO POLE! so as you can imagine i got v.fat n v. unfut haha AND just so you know its a loads of bolox about the core thing coz i had a back to back (aka urba painful) birth anyway. sods. law.
anyway off on one there - I've been back poling it up for nearly 2 months now - i've chosen to go to classes as I just feel more comfertable have some one there - though my plan was to only go to a few class till i was up to standard and then get me own pole out...well I still can't do the basic V leg invert thing- and don't even get me stared on the soulder mount i near wet myself! I'm actually in shock (though thinking about it - why the hell would i be in shock I could walk for nearly 2 weeks after how am i meant to wong myself up a pole!) and agina i duno where im going with this lol
i think my plan was to ask other yummy mummy there experiance getting back into poling - obv support from every one coz i just feel so bleurgh about not be able to do any thing and I was thinking keeping a lil diary on here so i can see how long it takes me
oh and another thing to teacher - when a student say oooh it burns OHH IT FRIGGIN BURNS i forgot...it reeeeeeeealy hurts haha
and way thanks for listening to my random rambles love Gem xxx

How long is it since you had your baby?
My main tip would be to take it SLOW. It sounds like you are attempting to get back to where you were before straight away.
This time around - take your time and learn to lift into everything. Your body has been there before, so it will remember eventually. Use this opportunity to really build your strength.
How I wish I could go back to the beginning and learn everything on both sides!

thank u ladies, ur pix are making me urba jelous btw lol dom ust say i loves them tho! I went to a different class tonight couldn't make my usual, it was intermediate...i did the side climb which i though i wouldnt be able to do but...so excited i not only nailed it but did knee at the end I've NEVER done knees never been able to always be to scared -don;t get me wrong a pathetic attempt if there ever was one but i did it! andthen got told off as its advance and they don't encourage it as it very damaging to knee...no good proffession pole dance would do it
i was good i didn't laugh
anyway won't be going back there (iget freaked out by heath and saftey - it says a lot about some ones standards as a teacher-and there was none) i mean serously would you let some one invert with out demostrating it first, when you've never in your life see them?!
